Fees & Payment Information

At Roots of the Mind Therapy we believe in maintaining transparency around fees so that clients can make informed decisions about their mental health care. We offer both self-pay services and insurance-based therapy to help meet the needs of our clients.

INSURANCE

We are currently in-network with Aetna and are in the process of expanding our network participation. We anticipate accepting Medi-Cal plans soon, with additional insurance plans to be added as they become available. If you plan to use insurance, we recommend contacting your insurance company before your first appointment to verify your behavioral health benefits, deductible, copay, coinsurance, and any authorization requirements. Although we verify eligibility as a courtesy, clients are ultimately responsible for understanding their insurance benefits and any balances not covered by their insurance plan.

Please check back for updates as additional insurance plans are added.

SELF-PAY

Clients who are not using insurance, or who choose not to use their insurance benefits, are welcome to receive services on a self-pay basis.

  • Initial Intake Assessment (60-90 min) - $250

  • Individual Therapy Sessions (50-60 min) - $200

  • Couples & Family Therapy Sessions (50-60 min): $250

  • Crisis Sessions (50-60 min): $200

Payment is due at the time of service.

If we are not contracted with your insurance plan, you may choose to pay for services privately and request a Superbill that you may submit directly to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement policies vary by plan, and we cannot guarantee that your specific insurance provider will reimburse for services. We strongly encourage clients to verify their out-of-network mental health benefits by contacting the member services number on their insurance card prior to beginning therapy.

If you have questions regarding fees, superbills, or scheduling a consultation, please contact us directly. We are happy to provide additional information and discuss how to begin the process.
